But We Have Flowers & Holding Humanity Flower Essence Blends

The world is heavy. My heart is heavy with grief. Much needs to change systemically.

It takes a lot to stay devoted to true peace, humanity, and justice.

Takes a lot

to feel.

to not look away.

to sustain.

to resist.

In times like these, I turn to the flowers to guide me.

There are two blends I would like to offer up at this time. Maybe you got the blend from me directly, or another organizer friend & scanned the qr code to learn more. However this little bottle got into your hand, know that it is here with love, a big hug, and hope for peace. May it bring you closer to what you need in this horror.

If you didn’t already know, what you are holding is a flower essence. They are different than an essential oil or tincture, as they have no phytochemicals in them. They are the energetic imprint of flowers in water. If you are not familiar with this kind of medicine, I know, it sounds crazy. But if you are open to wondering for just a moment, I invite you to think of the many ways in which western, white dogma has taught us that bigger and better = health. Flower essences challenge this notion. They support in subtle, energy body adjustments, supporting in gentle shifts towards inner peace.

Think of them as your little besties in a bottle.

In times like these, they are what I hold on to keep me going. They are medicine for the emotions.

Below, you can find a bit about the essences in blends, and their main purpose in the symphony that is the tiny garden.

  1. But We Have Flowers

Star of Bethlehem : for a state of shock and trauma - the kind that makes you freeze and withdrawal from your body, from reality. When the body is shut down emotionally, any further shocks build and get lodged in the body. This essence supports the user in allowing the shock to “roll” rather than “freeze”.

Borage: for grief and courage. Borage supports the user in building a heart space that is wide enough to hold the waves of grief, even feeling positive emotions along side it simultaneously.

California Poppy: for feelings of helplessness. California poppy supports the user in identifying their on special talents and offerings to a movement.

Mullein : Supports the user in inner conscience, truthfulness, uprightness. supporting user in releasing inability to hear one's inner voice; moral weakness and confusion, indecisiveness; lying or deception to oneself or others. Resisting dominant/ deceitful narratives to build effective movements.

Ylang Ylang : supporting in the waves of the heart. ylang ylang essence supports the user in connecting to their own bearing heart over and over, knowing that when it breaks it is because it is living. ylang ylang is a soothing balm for these moments of injustice and seemingly endless heartache.

2. Holding Humanity

Red Poppy: The red poppy supports a desire to overcome self-destructive tendencies and manage fiery tempers, emotional outbursts, and hostile reactions (one’s out of our best interest and inappropriate for our goals) by redirecting that energy towards constructive endeavors and proactive strategies. These vibrant blooms possess sedative properties and are believed in folklore to support astral travel (soul flight or hedgecrossing), lucid dreaming, and dream-related endeavors. Poppies hold special significance in the realm of Morpheus, the deity associated with sleep and dreams.

Valerian: Valerian Flower Essence operates on the body's energetic pathways that regulate inner heat, working to cool excessive emotional, mental, and physical turmoil. Unresolved anger and other buried negative emotions can manifest as symptoms like hot flashes, perspiration, headaches, anxiety, high blood pressure, temperature fluctuations, mental restlessness, and more. Valerian Flower Essence aids in transforming this internal fire, allowing anger to pass through like a fleeting cloud rather than getting entrenched in a sense of injustice.

Red Clover: During natural disasters when destructive environmental forces surround us, or during social upheaval/ injustice when collective fear, paranoia, or shock ripple through the crowd in forms of hysteria and hyperarousal. In such moments, this spreads and one can lose touch with oneself, particularly our inner calm knowing. Red Clover restores a serene "I-knowing" within the heart and blood, reinstating the disrupted sense of self.

Mimosa: Mimosa helps those burdened by overwhelming emotions open their hearts to the possibility of joy.

Linden: soothes emotional turmoil and high anxiety. It is beneficial for individuals who store tension in both body and mind, struggling to release from a constricted or contracted state, wanting to be “right”. Linden softens and opens the emotional aspect, addressing fear and pervasive worry reminding us there is no “right way” to be in community. Only open heartedness and compassion. It fosters a sense of community connection.

I recommend taking 4 drops orally as needed. These medicines are preserved with palm glycerin. They are safe for anyone to consume - those pregnant, on pharmaceuticals or other herbal supports. May they serve you, and this world in knowing peace.
